BARE ESCENTUALS – from Peacock to Love Bird

Love Bird is the follow up the hugely successful Peacock collection which was widely tipped as the most popular US TSV EVER. The Peacocks strutted their stuff on arrival at QVC in the UK at the end of October 2006 – not as a TSV, just a great kit, and sold out immediately. More stock arrived in December and that was quickly snapped up too.
Well son (or maybe chick) of the Peacock is the Love Bird. I didn’t think they could better the Peacock but Bare Escentuals have done a pretty good job with this.
The new;

  1. Trixie Lipgloss – quite frankly THE BEST lip gloss I have ever uses (sorry Smashbox) – it has a fresh minty taste and smell, it gently boosts the size of the lips – but in a natural and enhancing way – without any of the painful tingling you can get from other lip boosters. And the colour – perfect pink – definitely ‘your lips but better’. I love it.
  2. Flaunt and Finesse Glimpses are simply stunninng – worn together or alone and as ever, they are perfectly blendable and will go with your other BE shades.
  3. The Bare Escentuals Angled Blush Brush – beautifully soft and with a shape that perfectly contours the cheek – use for all blush and radiance colours to highlight and define.
  4. Flat Head Shadow Brush – A hard to find brush that has a number of uses – not least of which is the close lash line / smokey eye look.
  5. The Metallic Pink Padded Make up Bag. Deceptively spacious and an ingenious flat bottom (so it can stand up on it’s own). Not as glamorous as the Peacock bag, granted – but a nice addition to carry ones essential escentuals around in.

And add to that the small mineral veil, the small rose radiance, the huge duo of well rested / bisque a classic Soft Focus Brush and a classic black Bare Escentuals mascara, and frankly you have a superb little kit that really packs some punches.

I do like the idea of an auto-delivery kit with key essentials that builds up into a great collection – the next, eagerly awaited US instalment is the Bird of Paradise – which comes with a turquoise blue roll bag (which many if the more experienced BE users will remember from the ‘Perfect at Every Age’ set of collections). We will keep you posted on that.
